Kettering University A Section Society of Women Engineers
This group is Kettering University's A Section branch of the Society of Engineers (SWE), a non-profit service organization founded to inspire women to join engineering and various STEM (Science, technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. It also functions as a wonderful resource, network, and support system for those women who have already begun their careers. Kettering University, formerly known as GMI, is a private university located in Flint, MI with a cooperative learning program offering degrees in STEM and Business fields. Our group is heavily involved in volunteering throughout the community and encouraging young woman to pursue these careers and leadership roles.
Our section meets during the summer and winter terms while our students are taking classes on campus. We meet on EVEN Wednesdays in the Women's Resource Center on the 3rd Floor of the Campus Center. Our meetings involve planning of our section events and various presentations and activities intended to help us develop as leaders in order to be successful women in both our work places and on campus.
