What is SWE?
Society of Women Engineers
SWE is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to making known the need for women engineers and encouraging young women to consider an engineering education.
The Society of Women Engineers was founded in 1949 when small groups of women engineers started meeting in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. In 1952, the society was officially incorporated.
At Kettering University, there are two chapters of SWE, A-Section and B-Section. A-Section meetings are held every even week on Wednesday in the Women’s Resource Center to organize and plan events.
